    Jackson Dannock is a carpenter, licensed builder and industrial designer whose interests go beyond bricks and mortar. He seeks to challenge the way we look at advanced manufacturing and the circular economy, Jackson has helped successfully scale businesses with similar products and services and is well placed to turn these visions into reality. His experience and networks in advanced manufacturing is crucial to the successful piloting of our core business model. He is also founder and director of Made by Bare and Bloom Collective

  • Kylan Low is a structural engineer specialising in Mass Timber design and takes particular interest in employing 3D CAD and big data techniques to advance designs for automated manufacture and assembly. In 2017, Kylan graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil w/ Architecture) (Honours Class 1). He worked as a structural engineer for 3 years (2017-2020) in Lendlease’s DesignMake Unit, which was Australia’s leading mass engineered timber design unit. Here, he focused on the engineering and prefabricated manufacturing of environmentally sustainable buildings, such as the ANU Fenner Hall Towers, Marie Rae building and UNSW D14. During this time Kylan developed an appreciation for the meaningful application of environmental sustainability, and a passion for biophilic design.

    Since 2017, he has maintained a presence at Australia’s leading universities. He is a regular guest lecturer at UNSW, USYD, and UON, and created and delivered a postgraduate level course at USYD on timber structural design. He frequently engages with industry, and recently presented at the Australian Institute of Builders (2022) discussing the supply chains of modern sustainable structures.

  • Tom is an industrial designer & marketer with a specialist focus on principles of the circular economy. Tom has worked for a number of product businesses in Sydney & Canberra helping them to shape sustainability strategies across product design, materials and brand narratives.

    He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong and a Bachelor of Industrial Design from the University of Canberra.

    Tom is passionate about considering how we can live more slowly as a society, increasing our connection with nature and ourselves.

  • Daniel is a metal fabricator and maker/founder of faraci.cc. Faraci is Daniel’s studio and workshop. The studio takes a user-centred approach to design, creating objects that are suited to real-world applications. Daniel has experience in design consulting, concepting, prototyping, manufacturing and installation. Whilst metal work is Daniel’s bread and butter, Faraci partners with skilled local trades in order to deliver the best materials and processes for each individual project.

  • Myles is an arborist based in Moruya on the South Coast. Myles is a daily witness to the waste we produce in land clearing exercises. In Australia we have very few alternatives for land clearing, but Forest door will seek to tap into some of the waste products as certain types of Fungi grow in specific trees or mulch.

    Myles has a rich history of facilitating community activation and programmes in numerous areas of Australia and Canada. His passion for community minded programmes and spaces aligns well with his ability to execute detailed and complex schedules usually focused on creative outlets and gatherings. He brings motivation and inspiration to the spaces he inhabits.

  • Alex is an experienced horticulturist based on the NSW South Coast. Alex is a co-founder of Borrowed Ground who have been successfully growing and distributing food on the South Coast for two years. Alex has a range of local and international experience and expertise in food production and soil remediation, his passion for food and plants will lead and guide the team toward high quality produce and effective growing systems with cradle to cradle growing solutions, not only focussed on produce, but where we source our waste, how we treat it responsibly and the effective use of any of our own waste products. His existing networks and experience in food handling and distribution is also highly valuable to our startup strategy.

  • Matt is an urban planner and designer with particular interest in sustainability. He is passionate about creating tangible solutions that support communities organic growth. Matt has a Masters in Urban Planning and Environment from RMIT, where he specialised in social and affordable housing models and alternative housing concepts. He previously acted as the Project Director at EcoHaus, a company specialising in development and construction using CLT. Matt has also worked as a Project Manager at Dionysus, a cultural development and event management company where he gained extensive experience in creating places and communities. Whilst completing his studies, Matt worked as a consultant at an urban planning firm that examines how big-picture ideas are played out on a micro scale.

  • Kirsten is a designer, researcher & artist living in Melbourne on Wurundjeri land, with 10+ years experience running her own design practice.

    Through her creative practice, Kirsten works with change-makers, ethical organisations and artists to re-enchant our relationships with each other and the Earth, for a viable future. She does this by inviting and engaging others in a process of discovery, to build relationships and recognise latent potential. Kirsten wears three different hats as a creative practitioner: Visual Designer, Researcher & Artist.

  • Jarrah is a writer, artist and a community organiser. As a communications consultant, Jarrah works with ethical organisations to craft on-purpose messaging. Jarrah has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Laws from Griffith University. Jarrah previously managed the not-for-profit The Weekly Service, and has worked in policy for state and federal government. In her community and communications work she is passionate about creating authentic and inspired connection through embodied poetics.
